What Should I do If I think I have been Hacked?

Dear Robin,

By mistake I clicked on a link on my computer that said that my "virus protection needed to be updated". It looked authentic. When I clicked the link it asked me to enter my name and a my credit card information to update the protection. I did..and I quickly realized that I might have done something wrong. I'm afraid to tell my son because he might think that I'm losing my mind. The link looked real and I wanted to make sure that my information on the computer was safe. I think that I might have made a mistake. What should I do now?
